Child-Like Faith.

This afternoon, my daughter brought me to tears.

They were happy tears.

I was sitting in the living room, typing on my laptop, with my legs propped up on the coffee table. Lilian was right next to me at the coffee table, coloring in a book her mommy gave her.

All of a sudden, she put her hand on my leg and said "Booboo. Daddy's Booboo."

There was a red mark on my leg.

I said, "Yep." And she leaned in and kissed it.

And then the sweetest, most genuine thing happened.

(Remember, she's 2 and a half)

She put her hand back on my leg, closed her eyes, bowed her head, and said "Please. Daddy's Booboo. Thanks. Amen."

She sees us pray a bunch, and has prayed with us (mostly before meals and before bed.) But I've never "showed" her how to pray. She just knows it's something we do when we want to talk to God.

It was amazing how instinctive it was for her. I'm honestly still blown away.

She did it once more, and I just watched, crying, and told her Mommy.

That was child-like faith at it's best. Lilian knows God is big, and he protects & helps us. She doesn't ask how God helps, or why she can't "see" him. She believes it, simply because that's what we told her. And her belief caused her to act.

God, I pray a blessing over my little girl. I ask that you continue to shape her and mold her; and reveal yourself to her through even the smallest things. Thank you for her. She's wonderful.
Amen.

The Difference - recap.

Last month, we went through a 4-part series called "The Difference." I started by asking the question, "When you die, when your body lays to rest in a grave, what will be the difference you made in this world?"

The first week was all about catching the vision for making an eternal difference with our lives.

During week two, we talked about helping people; meeting physical, tangible needs of people around us. Friends, family, strangers, you name it.

Week 3 was about our mouths and what we say. We talked about the importance of telling our story of how Christ changed us, and telling His story of what He has done for everyone.

In the final week, I challenged the students to get off their butts and do it. Dream BIG dreams, dream GOD's dreams, and HANG ON to their dreams. I encouraged them that nothing is impossible with God. But it takes us stepping out in faith and action. I told them not to pray that God would open doors - there's millions open right now! I said instead to step out, through one of the millions of open doors while praying "God, if this isn't where you want me, please close this door."

It was a great series, and I hope it made a difference in their lives.

Tonight, we'll be re-visiting the heart of week 3. I'm going to give our students the opportunity to tell their stories. It will be incredible.

BAD LUCK

I have the worst luck with CELL PHONES and BLOGGER TEMPLATES.

This will have to do until I get time to fix it.
